​Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found is a Metroidvania style action-platformer that takes you back to a world made from the nightmares of your childhood. Join Brand—an action figure that has come to life—in his fight against the darkness to save his owner, Felix. Nightmares are only the start of his troubles: Brand needs to uncover the secrets of the house before it's too late.

Explore the entire house, combat chaos, and save other toys in the battle against evil. Create a huge arsenal and upgrade any item you find. Build the ultimate bedroom fortress to keep the darkness at bay. Unravel the house's mysterious past, and learn to overcome all odds.

​Design Concept

​Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found honors the experience of games from the ‘80s and ‘90s, without the 8-bit graphics and sound. We combined the platformer mechanic with a modern and detailed aesthetic that still has a familiar look and feel. All the elements (characters, creatures, environment, objects, and music) come together to create a vivid picture reminiscent of the games many of us grew up playing. 

Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found is influenced by old favorites such as Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid Prime - as well as more modern hits like Rogue Legacy and The Binding of Isaac.

Game Features

Toy Odyssey: The Lost and Found is fundamentally an action-adventure platformer. The player spends the night exploring a randomly-generated house, defeating bosses in each of the unique rooms, and then going up against the final boss. 

Chaos is your ally...
​Randomly-generated adventure means endless replayability. No night in the house is the same as before
By chance, you may find valuable items, bypass hazardous parts of the house, and more. The dynamic environment also plays a big part in whether or not you can defeat your enemies or complete a puzzle.

Every time your character fails, the night ends and the darkness grows stronger. The goal is to accumulate enough resources to strengthen yourself and build up defenses in order to vanquish the evil that corrupted this house—all before it reaches you and Felix.

Know your enemy...
When night falls and you're prepared to leave the room, it's best to know as much as you can about the enemies that lie ahead. Strategy is key.
Each foe will have different characteristics and stats (as well as different habits and behaviors), so it will be advantageous for you to equip yourself with the right weapons and protective gear before unlocking the door. 

...and know yourself
​You can survive longer when venturing out at night with the right equipment. Buy, craft, salvage, and most importantly, know your strengths and weaknesses. Earn the upper hand in the battles to come.
Remember: You are Felix’s favorite toy.

Defend what you love.
While you're away, the bedroom is unprotected. You will need to find a way to change that. With the proper materials, you can build formidable defenses to keep the darkness out, protect precious companions, and prevent further nightmares.

Characters

Brand is a source of constant positive energy, no matter the situation. Even when the odds are against him, he’s able to see the good in the situation. He doesn’t remember much about where he came from; the only life he knows is being with Felix, and nothing else.

He’s Felix’s favorite toy (and the other toys know it), but no one remembers where he came from—or when. This fills him with a sense of purpose, and he joyfully goes about his tasks and slaying the dangerous denizens of the night. However, a greater evil is on the horizon—lurking in the shadows. Brand must cleanse the new home of its darkness to help Felix and to uncover his own missing past.  

STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
​Other characters, once rescued, will provide their support and have a role in the main storyline.
